maria& the devil audiobook

What a project! This production was recorded in Barcelona at Muit Studios and performed by Molly Malcolm. I produced and directed the sessions virtually, then took on the post-production. Editing this huge audio project (13 hours of completed audio!) was a mammoth task, but incredibly rewarding - finding the best takes and finding the ‘voice’ of the story within the little pauses.

Once editing was complete, the project was handed over to Paul Condron for scoring. Based in Dublin, the scoring sessions were great fun, and richly collaborative. Then the project was handed back for mixing and mastering in London.

An epic production all round, and one that I am deeply proud of!

various sorrows and joys - audio stories and poems

'This city whose name is lost to memory is as big as any dream and as oppressive as any nightmare. These are stories and poems from the city and the outskirts that attempt to keep it at bay. Explore the streets, ride the buses, climb the highest towers and listen to the inhabitants as they wrestle for the truth within their various sorrows and joys'

'Various Sorrows & Joys' is a collection of short stories and poems that take place within a vast, sprawling city without name or identity. Larger than any dream, more oppressive than any nightmare, it is a place of everything. It is all things to all people, from the beginning of time and until the end of their days, and this is our peon to the inhabitants of that city and all their various hopes and dreams.

Co-writing with Luke Searle, this book is becoming a new animal through our audio interpretations. We are working slowly through the book, finding new voices to bring to our written work.

So if you have an audio requirement or any kind, or just an idea that needs development into production, drop me a line and we can thrash it out!

Theneverpress

TheNeverPress is our sister company; a full-scale publishing house for independent magical realist novels, poetry, audio, zines and graphic work. Using a network of contributing high-end designers, editors, artists and typesetters, I bring it all together so that every book in nurtured from wild idea, through conception and production to release. We work so hard to consider every single detail, striking a perfect tone between strange creative writing, and elegant presentation. While we love to work with traditional design methods for artworking cover designs and typesetting, we’re always looking at new ways of doing things - new schools of thought, new production methods and influences - all to honour the principals of the industry while we forge our own path into new frontiers.

So, if you’ve got an idea then why not get in touch and we can thrash it out - see what’s possible and where we can go…
